Built by someone who has done the work. Not managed it from a distance.
Archimedes Systems Group is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business founded by Eduardo Barbosa — a U.S. Navy nuclear veteran whose career spans defense, commercial space, advanced neurotechnology, and grid infrastructure. The company exists because federal programs deserve contractors who have operated under real stakes and can reach across serious technical communities when the work demands it.

Founder Background
U.S. Navy
Nuclear Machinist MateService-disabled veteran. Trained in the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program — one of the most rigorous technical pipelines in the U.S. military. Qualification required mastery of reactor plant systems, radiological controls, and zero-defect maintenance doctrine.

Principal-led on every task
Eduardo Barbosa is the technical lead on every engagement. Not a project manager coordinating a junior team — the person you evaluated in source selection is the person executing. This is a structural commitment, not a marketing claim.
Zero-defect doctrine
Navy Nuclear instilled a simple operating rule: the cost of defect in safety-critical systems is not recoverable. That mindset doesn't turn off on federal IT programs. We build for correctness first, then performance, then convenience.
Documentation as a deliverable
Every system we build is designed to outlive the engagement. Architecture decision records, runbooks, API documentation, and handoff packages are built from day one — not retrofitted before close.
Direct access, fast response
Small business structure means you reach the principal directly. No account manager, no ticket queue. Questions get answered by the person who knows the system.
High-tech network access
Work across Navy Nuclear, General Atomics, SpaceX, Neuralink, and Base Power created relationships across launch, energy, defense, neurotechnology, manufacturing, software, and technical operations. ASG can use that network carefully when a scope needs specialized perspective or additional bench strength.
The Case for Small Business
You get the person you evaluated
Large integrators win source selections on past performance and résumés of people who won't work your contract. At ASG, the person in the proposal is the person in the delivery.
Veteran-owned small business economics
Veteran-owned and SDVOSB set-aside pathways exist to give agencies access to qualified veteran-led businesses for requirements that fit. ASG is preparing that compliance path while keeping the operating model principal-led.
Speed and adaptability
Small business overhead means we don't need 3 layers of approval to change scope, pivot approach, or respond to a CO's question within the hour. Large programs with rigid processes lose time at every handoff.
Accountability is concentrated
When something goes wrong on a large contractor's program, the accountability diffuses across layers. At ASG, the buck stops with one person. That changes the incentive structure entirely.
SDVOSB Status
Archimedes Systems Group is a service-disabled veteran-owned Texas small business. Eduardo Barbosa is a service-disabled U.S. Navy veteran, sole member with full operational control, and day-to-day operating lead.
SBA VetCert application is in progress. SAM.gov entity registration is underway. Once approved, SDVOSB set-aside eligibility may apply to qualifying federal requirements under FAR Part 19.
Texas LLC formed and in good standing. Texas HB 346 veteran-owned business exemption active through approximately September 2030.
